SUP Yoga classes (taught by our good friend and amazing yoga teacher Melissa!!) take place in Sunfish Cut, a popular lookout point with a spectacular view. Doing SUP Yoga on the Island is an amazing experience that all Toronto Yoga practitioners should try at some point. The hope is that you have a spiritual experience every time you get on the water and that you leave feeling refreshed and ready to start your week. Come practice in the calm center of the city.

Classes are $45 and $7 for round trip ferry.  Board, paddle, dry bags, PFD (life jacket) are included in the price.  If you have your own board, send an email here to book your experience and get $10 off the class.  Please click here for more information and to register. There’s a maximum of 8 people per class so book early!
NOTE – You can request your own date and time with 3+people: weekday evenings, Wed/Thurs/Fri afternoon, Sat after 1:30pm or Sun after 2:30pm.  It’s an amazing way to spend time with family and friends!

Our last Acro Jam Workshop for the summer at Dance Teq Centre

Anyone who has some experience with Acro Yoga (or similar type of practice) is welcome to join!  The sessions will have some structure but it will also be somewhat informal encouraging people to play and to try new things.  Partners are not necessary since we’ll be mixing groups up. The warm ups will include partner and group yoga …from there anything goes!

Given this open structure we are asking that anyone joining us does have a little bit of experience in the practice to ensure we all practice mindfully and most importantly safely.

Friday, July 3rd    ~    7 to 9pm

Dance Teq Centre:  226 Queen Street W, 2nd floor

$20 per student.  Please click here to register.

It’s starting to feel like summer and we’re all excited about playing outdoors!

However, before you jump right in to try out the coolest thing on YouTube, make sure you have the foundation to grow and practice safely by taking a comprehensive Intro to Acro Yoga workshop!

June 5th ~ 7 to 9pm
Dance Teq Centre ~ 226 Queen Street W, 2nd floor.
Prices are $20 per student.  Please pre-register at this link.  Cheers!

Intro to Acro Yoga
Come with a friend or come alone and bring a sense of playfulness!!
Acro Yoga is an exciting blend of partner yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage.

This workshop will introduce the fundamentals of static acrobatic and partner body balancing while we deepen our connection through trust and plenty of laughter.  Topics covered:  creating a strong base using proper alignment, the secrets of flying, safety tips and the therapeutic applications of Acro Yoga.

Some experience with Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga, gymnastics or acrobatics is recommended, as individuals should be able to hold plank, move through chaturunga dandasana with ease, and feel comfortable with being upside down.

All of the workshops are taught at the Danforth Yoga Sanctuary  (3rd floor) from 7-9pm.  Workshops are $20 (sorry no class passes accepted) and we encourage everyone to register online before the workshop to save time.  Please arrive early and check in at the front desk before participating in the class.  Thank you!!

Anyone who has some experience with Acro Yoga (or similar type of practice) is welcome to join. The sessions will have some structure but it will also be somewhat informal encouraging people to play and to try new things. We are hoping to bring in some special guest teachers every once in a while as well

Partners are not necessary since we’ll be mixing groups up. The warm ups will include partner and group yoga …from there anything goes!

Given this open structure we are asking that anyone joining us does have a little bit of experience in the practice to ensure we all practice mindfully and most importantly safely.

Thank you Kendell!

In between teaching workshops at the Yoga Conference, Seb and I had a fantastic time hanging out and doing a photo shoot with Kendell MacLeod.  She’s a talented photographer and yoga teacher, and offers yoga therapy sessions and several photo packages through her website, Me&her.  Her portfolio is AMAZING!  She also teaches at De La Sol Yoga in Hamilton, Ontario. And…. we LOVE her sense of humour :0)

We are SUPER excited to be teaching Acro Yoga at Wanderlust 108!!

Wanderlust 108 ~ Olympic Island Park ~ June 27th

Wanderlust 108 is a triathlon unlike any you’ve ever known. This “mindful triathlon” brings three events together in your favorite local park: a 5k run, an outdoor yoga experience, and a guided meditation — but with a twist. Unlike most triathlons, we place community above competition, inner peace above power, and self-awareness above strength. We prefer slow food to fast run times. For us, winning is measured in laughs shared and new friends made.

And unlike many events offering yoga and meditation, we combine our practice with a whole lot of fun. While we’re pretty sure you’ll be challenged during the day, we are equally sure you’ll have a great time doing so. From live bands and DJs on our main stage, to lawn activities like hooping, slacklining and acroyoga, to our local food and craft vendors, there’s a lot to do when you’re not on your mat.

So while you’re hanging out in the “Uncommons” area, we’ll be teaching and encouraging acro play!  I’ll bring my crazy Gymnastics Pyramids book – anybody up for a 12-person pyramid?!

Please click here for more info about the Toronto event and to get tickets. Better hurry because Tier 3 tickets have already sold out!
